On the 19th of July 2005, David was given the silver medal of Nigrán, the town in Spain where he currently resides.

The emotional ceremony took place in a Palace.

The mayor of the town presided the ceremonial act and presented David with the medal in the Pazo de Urzáiz.

Tomás Camacho, head of the guitar department at the conservatory in Vigo, gave a brilliant speech, explaining his views on David as a person and as a musician.

In the gardens of the palace, the local council offered a party after the act.
